Wedding-Ready Skin: The Ultimate Skin Preparation Timeline

Your wedding day deserves your most radiant skin. Not a filtered version, not a heavily made-up version, but genuinely healthy, luminous skin that photographs beautifully and feels as good as it looks.

The key is time. Great skin on your wedding day is not the result of a last-minute facial. It is the result of a considered, clinician-led preparation plan that begins months, ideally over a year, before the day itself.

12 Months Out: Skin Assessment and Foundation

The earlier you start, the more options you have. A comprehensive skin consultation at this stage allows us to assess your skin type, identify any concerns (pigmentation, acne, texture, laxity), and design a treatment plan with enough time to deliver meaningful results.

This is also the time to begin a medical-grade skincare routine. Prescription-strength retinoids, vitamin C, and targeted actives need months to show their full effect. Starting now means your skin will be in its best possible condition by the time we move into more intensive treatments.

If you are considering treatments like skin needling, Rejuran, or PRP, beginning a course now allows for a full series with adequate healing time before the wedding.

6 Months Out: Intensive Treatment Phase

With six months to go, we can begin or continue more intensive treatments. Skin needling courses are typically spaced four to six weeks apart, and a series of three to four sessions delivers the most significant collagen remodelling results.

If pigmentation is a concern, this is the window for targeted treatments and prescription brightening agents. Pigmentation responds slowly, and consistent treatment over several months produces far better results than a rushed approach close to the date.

LED photobiomodulation can be incorporated at any stage to support healing, reduce inflammation, and enhance the results of other treatments.

3 Months Out: Refinement and Glow

At three months, we shift focus to refinement. Skin should be responding well to the treatment plan. This is a good time for a Rejuran booster if skin hydration and texture are priorities, or a PRP treatment to enhance radiance and density.

We also review your skincare routine and make any adjustments. Some actives are best paused in the final weeks before the wedding to ensure the skin barrier is calm and resilient on the day.

4 to 6 Weeks Out: Final Preparations

In the final four to six weeks, we focus on maintaining results and ensuring the skin is in its calmest, most luminous state. This is not the time for new or aggressive treatments. Any treatment that carries a risk of downtime, redness, or purging should be completed well before this window.

A gentle LED session, a hydrating treatment, or a final skin needling session (if timed correctly with adequate healing time) can all be appropriate at this stage, depending on your individual plan.

The Week Before: Skin Calm and Ready

In the final week, keep it simple. Stick to your established routine, stay hydrated, prioritise sleep, and avoid introducing anything new to your skin. Your skin should be calm, hydrated, and glowing from months of consistent care.

We recommend a final consultation in this window to review your skin and confirm your routine for the days immediately before and after the wedding.
